Siemens have worked with Groom Design Services Ltd for circa 10 years since their setup in 2006. Previously I knew Christopher Groom in his capacity as a Protection Application Engineer at Northern Powergrid (YEDL). Groom Design Services provide Siemens with highly experienced Secondary protection design and interface engineering up to and including 132kV for numerous of our DNO clients inclusive of NPG, SPEN and National Grid. Groom Design Services are competent in the production of concept design (main connection and protection and tripping logics), General arrangements, schematic, wiring diagrams and all aspects of interface design. Projects are completed in a professional and timely manner and the technical support received allows a smooth transition between the DNO Design Engineers and Siemens. In addition to the design service, Groom Design Servers also provide Siemens with competent installation staff with experience up to and including 132kV. These operatives provide, relay panel modification wiring, installation of multicore cable and containment, earthing and installation of plant. Installation staff, carry all appropriate certification and competencies including certain staff holding National Grid BESC and persons.
